Ah Sunflower, weary of time,
Who countest the steps of the sun;
Seeking after that sweet golden clime
Where the traveller’s joyrney is done;
Where the Youth pined away with desire,
And the pale virgin shrouded in snow,
Arise from their graves, and aspire
Where my Sunflower wishes to go!
~ William Blake ~
Hey, so it’s been a minute, right?
It has. But we’re all busy people, so that’s okay, right?
Of course it is.
I’ve done a couple of commissions since my last post, because art for the sake of art is great, but art for money is even better. 🙂 But I can’t post those – or I can, but I won’t, since they involve portraits of someone’s children and I’m weird about privacy on that sort of thing…
But I can totally share these! Daddoo made a spinning wheel for Le Mumz a couple of months ago, and it’s been waiting for the cash-jobs to be finished, but now here she is! The little sunny (roughly about 3 – 4 inches across) is an embellishment for the back side, where the whorl-knob goes, while the big sunny is the drive wheel itself (approximately 14 – 15 inches across, with only one side painted, since the drive-band will block the other side).
